Folk village in summer and peek at a new project

I’m making a summer top with the Phildar Shiny yarn, a cotton yarn with touches of polymide and polyester, which provides a little sparkle. I absolutely love the yarn – wish the sparkle showed up better in photos. The yarn has beautiful color flecks, and doesn’t split.

The top I’m making uses simple mesh and double crochet stitches. It is my own design, and I’m making up some aspects of it as I go along – not sure how I will end with the sleeves yet, whether they will be cap sleeves or a cold-shoulder style? I should be ready to show you by this time next week what I have settled on!

Here’s a look at the lovely folk village with its Summer colors coming in. Rice paddies are now flooded with water, and the grasses have grown tall. The buildings were closed to the public for some time, but now they are open to visitors so I was able to get a few shots of the courtyard in one traditional house.

I’ll leave you with some final shots with Bodhi. Thanks for checking in! See you again soon.
