My Makes

New rustic scarf make and WIP updates

Just checking in to share a few of the projects I have going. It’s still pretty hot weather-wise here in Korea, but I think our heat wave is finally behind us. I’ve started looking at my yarn stash for Autumn ideas, and have begun a pretty cardigan using Scheepjes Metropolis yarn – a soft blend of 75% merino wool and 25% nylon. The color (064-Kraków) is a shade of rusty red that brings to mind Japanese maple trees in Autumn. The cardigan has a lacy yoke with an integrated leaf design. I am debating whether to make balloon sleeves that match the yoke.

A second project I have going is another Key West shawl, using Morris & Sons 2-ply merino in hot pink. It is about 70% done at this writing and looks awesome in the color! I really love this yarn and wish I could easily get some more of it.

Lastly, I just finished a pretty, rustic shawl with giant tassels at the corners. It uses a recycled yarn called Remix by Berroco. The yarn contains nylon, cotton, acrylic, silk, and linen. It’s flecked with complimentary colors which gives a tweedy effect. I love it and will probably make a purple one with pink tweed at some point.

I will try to get photos of me wearing some of these things, as soon the heat subsides. I may be slowing down my posting in the next couple of weeks, since I am going back into the classroom.

So glad you stopped by! Take good care, and see you soon.
