Halloween Greetings! A peek at Autumn

Happy Halloween! I promise I haven’t “ghosted” my blog (feel free to groan… 🙂 I’ve really let some time pass between postings. I have no better excuse than my work duties have exponentially increased recently. By the end of December, I should have a very, very welcome reprieve, which includes a trip back to the United States for some weeks. I have already spent two and a half years away from the U.S., my longest time away yet. Only the pandemic is to blame for this.

I look forward to seeing what the outside (largely mask-less) world looks like. In Korea we are still wearing masks everywhere in public. I do remove my mask when I am alone in the woods, which I try to do often during this beautiful time of year. Fall is my favorite season, and I’ve shared here a few random shots of my walks this week. I even found a few more weird mushrooms from after the last rain.

My fiber arts are coming along slowly, but surely, and I bravely took on a new cardigan project using two varieties of Scheepjes yarn: Stone Washed and Furry Tales. The yoke is complete now and I’m moving on to the body soon. I’ll share more specs about the project when I have a bit more of it finished.

I’m a little worried that I won’t have the border done on this dragonfly throw before I fly back to the States – the border has dozens upon dozens of popcorn stitches, which take time! It looks cool though, and I hope the recipient loves it, too.

Lastly, I have gotten some yarn deliveries to cheer me up, including some neat bouclé yarn that will be perfect to create a stuffed dog that looks like a friend’s poodle mix. This is a long-term project that I may not start until January.

I have more to share about winter plans, but will save until next time. Until then, be well!

  1. You have some lovely projects underway. The dragonfly throw looks really lovely. I love the tiny dragonflies in there. The wool you selected for the doggie project does resemble poodle hair! I’m looking forward to seeing the end project next year.
How wonderful that you will be able to return home for a visit. You must be really excited about the trip.
The photos of your walks are great, with lovely scenery, and the fungi.
Wishing you a safe trip home, and an exceptional holiday!
P.S. I finally completed the little spinner, after realising I made a boo-boo at the first attempt, and had to pull it all apart and start again! It was a fun project to do. I will try and remember to post a photo of it soon!
