Halloween Greetings! A peek at Autumn

Happy Halloween! I promise I haven’t “ghosted” my blog (feel free to groan… 🙂 I’ve really let some time pass between postings. I have no better excuse than my work duties have exponentially increased recently. By the end of December, I should have a very, very welcome reprieve, which includes a trip back to the United States for some weeks. I have already spent two and a half years away from the U.S., my longest time away yet. Only the pandemic is to blame for this.

I look forward to seeing what the outside (largely mask-less) world looks like. In Korea we are still wearing masks everywhere in public. I do remove my mask when I am alone in the woods, which I try to do often during this beautiful time of year. Fall is my favorite season, and I’ve shared here a few random shots of my walks this week. I even found a few more weird mushrooms from after the last rain.

My fiber arts are coming along slowly, but surely, and I bravely took on a new cardigan project using two varieties of Scheepjes yarn: Stone Washed and Furry Tales. The yoke is complete now and I’m moving on to the body soon. I’ll share more specs about the project when I have a bit more of it finished.

I’m a little worried that I won’t have the border done on this dragonfly throw before I fly back to the States – the border has dozens upon dozens of popcorn stitches, which take time! It looks cool though, and I hope the recipient loves it, too.

Lastly, I have gotten some yarn deliveries to cheer me up, including some neat bouclé yarn that will be perfect to create a stuffed dog that looks like a friend’s poodle mix. This is a long-term project that I may not start until January.
