March isn’t yet over, but we have some high Spring weather happening here. In fact, the cherry blossoms are already in bloom two weeks early. I will get outside tomorrow and take you some shots before they’ve all disappeared for this year.
Meanwhile, here are a few pictures I took in the meadow at the beginning of the week — some neighborhood ladies were out doing their seasonal mugwort harvest. You can read my post from last year where I mention this practice. The young leaves of mugwort are best for making Spring rice cakes and other seasonal delights.
I’ve also started a mandala that will become a pillow cover (after I make two matching ones). I’m using a pattern by Lilla Bjorn Crochet and several colors of Scheepjes Softfun yarn. The mandala has a raised pattern made from front post stitches. Can’t wait to show you the finished product; it’s moving fast, so I might be done next week.
It was blustery the day we visited the meadow.
