This weekend, I’m working on several things at once (surprise, surprise), including a couple of fairly simple pattern repeats with very different yarns.
The first is a stole that’s about 2/3 finished, using delicious (but sadly, discontinued) Berocco Mykonos yarn and a 3.75mm hook. The yarn is a luminous mix of linen, nylon, and cotton in color 8556 (midnight blue). I have had this yarn squirreled away for some time, and have just resurrected this project to finish soon! I am officially in “finish what thou startest” mode, so watch out, world 😆

I am also zipping along with a daisy chain shawl, using King Cole Subtle Drifter yarn in color 4393 (cream) and a 7/0 Tulip hook (4mm). I have two of these cool “double headed” Japanese hooks (see photo), which have different hook sizes at each end.

I’ll be toting one or the other of these projects around with me for awhile, getting in a stitch or three when I can find the time in my upcoming semester, which starts the Monday after next.
I have more complex WIPs on the horizon, too, including a beaded mandala and another spectacular amigurumi that shall remain confidential, for the moment!
These last few weeks of relative peace have allowed me a little time to organize my home, operate at a more leisurely pace, and generally shore up my mental reserves for what lies ahead. I’ve had the chance to travel in Korea and catch up with friends at some of my favorite secret local haunts, which I love sharing with a select few (that includes my blog regulars) ❤️
Speaking of which, tomorrow afternoon, I’ll be joining a crafting klatch that hasn’t convened since prior to Covid. My very talented friend has her own new studio, and I look forward to finally seeing it and sharing the fun with you here in my next post.
