Korean hollyhocks

Korea’s “leggy boho babe” is now out in flower form – that officially means Summer! I’m talking about hollyhocks, one of my favorite flowers in Korea. They come in a surprising array of red, pinks, and white. I’ve even seen a few that are almost purple.

These photos were taken a few days ago during a sunny walk on campus with Bodhi. They have likely grown even taller now after our recent monsoon showers.

I’ve already spotted black-eyed Susans, too, which are flowers I don’t typically see until mid- to late-summer. Everything is coming up earlier this year, and moving faster.
