Just a quick check-in today – I have made a little more headway on the Spice Market pattern. The lantern-like motif in Part 7 is coming through. I love the variety of stitches in this design, and the overlay/stripes is a fun section. The best news, I am almost done with this beauty! So anxious to enjoy in its entirety, and finally move on to another challenge.
In the corner of the above photo is a glimpse of proto-leaves of my cilantro (also, below). My British friends will call it coriander. Either way, it’s a controversial herb; I know some people who think it tastes like soap. I happen to love it, and use it copiously in Mexican and Thai cooking, when I can get my hands on it.
I’m also growing small quantities of basil, Italian parsley, dill, cilantro, and peppermint on my patio. I rarely have much luck with herbs in Korea, though, partly because I don’t have a green thumb, and partly because the season to grow them is pretty short. The Summer heat comes on quickly. This year, though, they look “not terrible”! 🙂 I just used some mint last night in a Greek meatballs recipe, and dill in a tzatziki.
I’ll be back sooner than later with another craft update. So glad you stopped by!
