Busan sea views; new crochet poncho project

My plans to go back the U.S. have been postponed until July, so in Korea I remain for the time being. The pandemic has presented complications that have kept me in a kind of physical limbo, but I’m doing my best to use my time well, which includes digging into several fun art projects I’ve had on the back burner, and tackle some more home improvements.

I spent a couple of nights in Haeundae last week, and stayed in a dog-friendly hotel that is conveniently located to Dongbaek Island, one of my favorite walking areas in Busan. I was here last summer with Bo, one of my friends, and her dog. This time the temperature was chilly, but the sky was so wonderfully clear, as you can see from the video below. If you look closely at the rocks, you can see some brave souls out fishing!

In my down time this week, I’ve been working on a beautiful turtleneck poncho that uses Rowan Felted Tweed yarn. It is fast-moving, so I hope to finish it well before my break is over. I still have many stitching projects underway, so I’m grateful to have this time to finish them up.

Thanks for stopping by! I’ll share a mini-tour of Seoul with you soon.

  1. Oh sorry to hear that your trip home has been delayed until July. Before you know it, July will have arrived, and you will be winging your way home! Your dog is very cute! Is that a travel crate/bag for him on wheels? I have not seen one before. Thanks for showing us more of the countryside. I find it very interesting. Have fun with your new projects!

    1. Thanks for your kind words! Yes, that is a little wheeled carrier for my dog. After just a bit of training, he’s comfortable in it zipped up and rolling. In winter, I put a small heated pouch and a blanket inside so he’s cozy.
